Clarify the location and setup
Ask whether the practitioner works at their premises or visits clients, which areas they cover and whether travel costs extra. Confirm the address and arrival arrangements. For a hotel appointment, agree access with the hotel beforehand.
For a visit, discuss space, equipment, clean linens and consumables. Share a private address directly once arrangements are agreed.
Understand what the session includes
Ask for a plain-language description of the format and the duration of the massage itself. Does the advertised time include preparation, changing and discussing preferences?
For claimed qualifications, ask what training was completed, where, when and in which subject. Request relevant certificate details. A certificate photograph alone does not explain whether experience matches your request.
Agree the price and personal boundaries
Request the total price, currency and inclusions. Check optional charges, payment, deposits and rescheduling terms. A time is only agreed once the practitioner confirms it.
Discuss language, privacy, changing arrangements and anyone else present. Clarify how to express discomfort, request adjustments or end the session. Discuss photography separately.
