Write a short, specific brief
Describe the scope. For cleaning, explain the spaces and tasks; for translation, specify languages, length and output format. State what is ready and what the specialist must provide.
Your area may be enough initially. Share your exact address or personal documents with the chosen specialist when needed for the agreed work.
Compare the same things
Keep replies together and mark what needs clarification. A lower amount means little when one quote covers the whole task and another covers only part.
- Scope: Do they handle your exact task, and what is excluded?
- Location: Do they cover your area, and is travel charged separately?
- Language: Can you discuss details in your preferred language?
- Experience: Are there relevant examples explaining their contribution?
- Terms: What are the total price, currency, materials, timing and payment arrangements?
- Changes: What happens if the date or scope changes, or either person cancels?
Resolve the details that affect your decision
For claimed qualifications, ask for the programme, organisation and date, and their relevance to your task. Read external reviews alongside the work they describe.
Confirm the scope, date and total price or calculation method in writing. If a visit is needed for a quote, establish its cost and how you will approve further work.
